Sofra Turkish Cafe & Restaurant

Huda and I headed to Sofra Turkish Cafe & Restaurant last week!  It's located at Shaw Tower at 100 Beach Road; that's where Tom's Palette and Ah Loy Thai are found as well.  It's on the second floor though!

Snapchat proportions are so different!  I took a photo whilst studying in the Biz library  :DDDDDD

Went to meet Amalina closer to 7pm!  It was about 7.45pm when we reached and the place wasn't too crowded, just nicely packed.  I told Huda that I really liked the seating arrangements, and she snorted and remarked "What, just because it's slanted?"  Yes I think the slanted seating arrangment makes it feel like a communal eating area, which is cosy and homey!  We talked about koping the pretty lantern-looking lights as well hehe

We first got sesame bread and HUMMUS!  I've never actually had hummus and I'm not a huge fan of beans and peas so I didn't really know what to expect.

But this hummus was really good!  It tasted so fresh (I think it's because of the tiny bits of garlic in them, they had a sharp kick), and velvety, but there were still enough grainy bits for it to not cross over to a mash, but stay a hummus.  REALLY YUMMY, I WOULD SAY!  Huda preferred scooping it up with the sesame bread, but I thought it tasted lovely on its own.

Huda's main course: Firin Kofte with chicken.  It was really cheesy and rich!  The chicken was really succulent.  The tomato was marinated really well, and wasn't too tangy

I got an Iskender Kebap, with mixed beef and lamb, the white sauce you see above is a generous dollop of yogurt!  It was really yummy; the sliced meat wasn't dry at all, and really moist actually.  I quite like eating lamb so this was really good.  Again I think they use their spices really well; this was flavourful!

The waiter offered to take a photo for us!  :D

Even though the both of us were really full after our hearty meal at Sofra, we still went downstairs to Starbucks to grab some hibiscus tea.  So delish, and refreshing! Anyway, do try Sofra out if you want yummy Turkish food.  I would recommend for a once-in-awhile kind of thing though, 'cos the meal is really heavy and just... a lot of carbohydrates are involved.  Heh.

When I meet Hudidoo, basically, all we do is talk really rapidly about shit that's going on in our lives because we seldom meet each other and we just always have so much to talk about.  :D  Love you very much, I hope you know that!

We have our ootd woes (i.e. the both of us just cannot pose to save our lives) and so I was telling her just to WERK IT and that single one out of a gazillion will be amazeballs.

And sometimes you hit gold like this!  I love photos with genuine smiles and happiness :D

I really liked Huda's crochet dress, which she got from Taobao!  Honestly, the woman works Taobao better than I do (I don't know how to shop on it, for real), and she says that I'm Chinese and should be able to read all them Chinese words, but THE SITE IS SO CLUTTERED AND DEM FLASHING IMAGES HURT MY EYES!!!

And here's my ootd!  Was trying to be girly because I'd been dressing really hobo chic the past few days - my belt is a floral headscarf!

Sandals from Asos (also, one of my photos, another outfit, was featured on Asos' #asseenonme page!!!  Flattered (: )

Really liked Hudidoo's lipstick!  It's from MAC, it's a dark pink with a reddish tinge - I think the name's Candy Yum yum but I'm not sure.  Shall check with her and let y'all know (ETA: I've checked!  It's called All Fired Up; sorry my bad).  As for me I'm wearing Nars' Catfight on my lips, with MAC's sheen range Hue on the top!

(:

Only dinners like this with my insane friends keep my sanity in check.  Thank you for an awesome dinner and night Hudidoo, as you said "I just feel better about life in general."  (: (: (:

Only one month till finals, let's press on people!  WE OWN THIS SHIT
