There was one afternoon when I had a consultation with Prof Talib for my honours thesis, and I was left feeling rather
disgruntled and
displeased with myself because I hadn't a clue how to continue with my paper. Thus on a whim, I decided to head to town myself and get my hair dyed! I genuinely treat my hair as if it's a face... If only I could have different hairstyles as easily as I could do different makeup styles! In any case, a change to my hair really makes me feel like I'm at a fresh new start. With a little Google search, I found
Artica Hair Studio at Far East Plaza.
In my seat after choosing hair colour! Since I was really undecided, and Bell, my stylist, said that the bottoms of my hair were in dire condition - one wouldn't really expect otherwise, because the final 3 inches or so have been bleached THREE TIMES - the hair colour we went for was a revlon one which was simply a light shade of brown! I
pleaded requested her to go as light as she could without bleaching my hair. She also recommended snipping off some of my dead ends so I let her.
Was there alone so I kept myself occupied with the magazines... Spotted this! I was really into The Following at that time so I was quite amused with this.
Really like this geisha-like makeup on Fan Bing Bing! Such strong brows, and I never know how to work in a coral lip colour into a look without resembling a bad 90s music video dance girl, so this photo was snapped as an inspiration.

I was also on Instagram checking out photos of people's ootd and it's really quite amazing how much inspiration one can get from there! I love street style as much as sartorial styles so to have some leisurely time scrolling through such photos was really enjoyable.
Doneeeeeeee! My hair colour and treatment cost SGD$138, which wasn't very expensive considering the length of my hair (a little way past my shoulders). Also, my head received a reaaaaaaally soothing massage! :D
End product! Was looking a little uncertain because I thought the caramel brown was a little too loud for my liking.
Got home and snapped a bunch of photos, and the hair colour increasingly grew on me:

Flea was really supportive (of my numerous hair changes) and said that this shade was nice and made my skin look really translucent!
It really looked more like this in real life, caramel-brown, rather than reddish brown. After a few washes, it wasn't as loud anymore, so I felt happier with it! In any case, what I truly want is Daenerys Targaryen's platinum blond hair, and for that to happen, I've to really nurse my hair to full care first! Or maybe I should let that desire go, altogether, haha.

Since then my hair's grown out a lot! My hair grows really quickly. Time to get my roots done soon. :D
