KONNICHIWA!
I look so buck-toothed in this photo hahahahah.
Zhiwei and I went out a few days ago (with Andy as well, to watch X Men!) and I just realised I haven't even blogged about when we went to watch
The Wind Rises... D': Zhiwei I'm such a terrible friend, please forgive me!!!!!!!!
So here is my post on the time we went to Plaza Singapura's Golden Village cinema to catch the film. :p
I was wearing heels so basically this was the way we looked the whole time walking about...
At a more accurate height :D
The Wind Rises is an animated film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. He's the genius behind Studio Ghibli (along with Isao Takahata), the studio responsible for the films Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, and my favourite, Spirited Away! :D These are the ones I've watched. Some others that you might be familiar with are My Neighbour Totoro, Ponyo, Arrietty and Kiki's Delivery Service.
- NO SPOILERS, JUST SOME THOUGHTS -
I really liked the film a lot! It received flak from some people because they were questioning Miyazaki's choice to focus on fighter planes and the war, that he was giving too much praise to a "killing machine". After watching the film, my personal view is that he didn't dismiss nor negate the severity of the issue of war and death, but neither did he romanticise the war to such a nostalgic extent. I really liked the Jiro/Caproni dynamic; how the both of them respected the beauty of the fighter plane as a marvel of design, and how they both wanted to bring good to the world through the only way they knew how to. I really liked the Naoko and Jiro romance as well, because it was endearing and so, poignant. It was very subtle, and both of them honoured their roles as a spouse to each other very beautifully... I felt very sad at the film, but I really enjoyed the film. I think it's one of my favourite films, to be honest!
After the film, because it was mid-afternoon, and I had Thom with me, Zhiwei and I ventured out into the sunlight to snap some photos! (:
The wind was really strong through, hence the unruly and untamed hair
If anyone's to be the spokesperson of Laura Mercier's powder, Zhiwei's the brilliant candidate! Zhiwei's complexion's really good as it is, and enhanced by Laura Mercier's powder she just looks glowing. (: I really like it on her!
I also really like this shot. I kinda forced her into posing, but hey! The ends over the means, right? :x
More posing LOLOL
And finally she broke out into para para dance moves!!! HAHAHAAHA honestly had such a laugh
I very diligently posed -
Thanks for the outfit post, dear! I'm here wearing another borrowed item (or passed down, if you'll have it) from my mom - her lovely checkered pants! The boxes are really small, so reminiscent of the '80s, really, not gaudy nor boorish. Disco pants, I like to call them! The white toga crop top is from Asos hehe, so quite
modern, I'm sorry.
Zhiwei edited this! (:
Makeup for the day: had gone for a simple eye (only contoured my socket bone, and had liner and falsies), with a red lip (am using Boots No. 7's Showbiz)
Also really liked the details of this shot! Zhiwei has a knack for picking up stuff that really fits here and this pair of denim shorts is no exception. The colour is a delicious denim, not too light nor dark, and the fit is very flattering on her
derriere (I have been as discreet as I can be!)
My shoes were a precious buy in London, when Zhiwei and I were in New Look! The rich maroon colour is so luxurious and I simply love the oxford cut and the shoelaces. (:
Hopped on to Vivocity at Harbourfront and we stopped by this place, Honeymoon Dessert, for a break!
I got the Mango Pomelo Dessert, which was quite refreshing
And Zhiwei got the matcha ice cream with chinchow (grass jelly)!
The look says it all "OH MY GOD WOMAN CAN YOU STOP IT WITH THE PHOTOS"
Hehehehehehe
Then we left for our separate ways and I headed to school to pass Bryan and Andy some herbal tea and fruits 'cos Bryan said he was falling ill - it was the intense revision period - and I thought it'd be nice for them to get some nourishment!
And they both snapped photos hahahahhah
The next day I promptly fell ill from eating fried chicken *-* Hahahahaaahah my life.
I've come to realise that... I watch many films with Zhiwei! Thanks for being my film buddy on top of being my seat partner babe!!! :D So glad to have someone as interested as me in the kind of wonky films I watch. (:
Till the next!
Love,
Pamela
