Tips to getting good skin, as imparted by Pamela from her therapist, whilst getting her face squeezed to within an inch of its life by said therapist:
#1. Sleep before 12am
Your skin recovers best from 11pm to 2am. Do your best to refrain from being awake during this particular period, or *gasp* be caught partying AND drinking
#2. Do not wear makeup
Makeup products contain many ingredients and chemicals that your skin may be sensitive or allergic to
#3. If you have to wear makeup, WASH IT OFF PROPERLY
Clogged pores lead to inflammation of the skin and acne.
#4. Do not eat fried or oily food
#5. Do not eat CHILLI
Especially sambal chilli. Chilli excites your system too much.
#6. Try to keep away from sugar and processed food.
Consumption of these encourages bacteria growth.
#7. Drink lots of plain water
Just chug like you're constantly thirsty.
Hahahahahha how much of all this have I not been doing? Well there are other reasons such as hormonal changes like menses and pregnancy for women, or stress-related factors. I figure the onset of nasty red pustules on my face was due to stress because I haven't had my period in 2 months as well and that has happened before. I'm going to try to go makeup-free for a week and be off chilli and fried food! Hopefully my face gets better, because it's affecting me awfully badly. One's self esteem really drops. I'm pretty good at makeup so my cover-ups have been pretty good! But the sad thing is, more concealer leads to more stress on the skin and coupled with my probably inappropriate ways of cleansing (now altered, I hasten to add), all that makeup hasn't been good for my face.
Well I hope you find some good in this! Drink up, kids. Just water, mind you.
I miss dancing already. Sigh
