Photographs are interesting. They're two-dimensional captures of things that are typically three-dimensional, and the variation of contrast, light and positioning is used to make us perceive such 2D captures as 3D.
I like photographs of makeup and beauty, of faces especially. A simple thing like powder can be used to mattify the face and bring in the focus, yet another powder too, a shimmery one, can be used to bring out that part of the face.
