I'm terribly
lazy for this recess week, though I know I've tonnes to do........ I DON'T KNOW WHY. Maybe it's because I was down with a flu this weekend and didn't get much sleep the past week and just needed some rest this weekend. But it's already past 5pm on Monday yet I've only spent it watching YouTube videos and listening to music. HMM.
Well besides catching up on schoolwork and getting started on project work this week, I really hope I'd be able to cook a nice meal for my family this week!
The weekend before school started I managed to cook a nice meal with B.
We started off with an appetiser:
caprese! It's slices of mozzarella on fresh tomato slices, then seasoned with a bit of salt and pepper, and drizzled over with olive oil. You're supposed to put sprigs of basil leaves in there as well but I didn't have any hahahaha. It tasted yummy enough and because it was pretty late (8-ish) and we still had to prepare our mains, the caprese got our hungry tummies through the waiting time.
On to the mains!
I present to you a
rosemary and garlic chicken thigh, baked in the oven, and a side omelette overfilling with a filling of french beans, shiitake mushrooms, and onions! The chicken thigh really tasted very nicely seasoned, though we took a little while to get it cooked because I couldn't remember at which temperature to bake it at.
Now onwards to my favourite, dessert!!

CREPES! It was my first time making crepes, so it took a little while trying to get the consistency right. Yes I made the batter on my own with flour, milk and eggs! (: It was trial and error and I snapped at B because he questioned my adding a lot of milk to the mixture but HEY IT TURNED OUT AWESOME HAHAHAHA. To be a better cook, I need to have better control over my temper but....... it's difficult!!! Haha. Whilst at the supermarket, B was questioning my choice of crunchy peanut butter with crepes, but because a friend had made it for me before I told him to just have faith. The combination of blueberries, strawberries, crunchy peanut butter and drizzled honey is really delicious! We also got Nutella as an alternative, which my elder brother preferred.
I also really hope I can meet up with a certain....

She brought me to
Balaclava, a bar at the top level of Ion Orchard.
We shared yummy chicken and a foie gras burger!

The band performing was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. They really had such dynamic harmony! I especially loved the male lead singer's ability to harmonise. The band is called

Went on to white wine (:
