be gone, generic he

I WILL STOP THE USE OF THE GENERIC HE PERSON BY PERSON, TO MY DEATH!!!!!

Today a friend whom I had once protested against her use of the word "guys" to represent both women and men backtracked and clarified that she was referring to all of us friends, both women and men! And I'd like to believe that it was, to some extent, because I had protested the last time. I wouldn't know if people find me annoying or not, because these are supposedly "not important", and when I insist these issues are, whether they humour me and change their use of language just for me and not in other situations. But I sincerely believe once disadvantaged groups (in this case, women) are not rendered invisible, change will slowly occur.

Another close friend said he has given up on trying to spread the issue of gender equality. It made me feel rather sad because I get tired sometimes, thinking about such issues, and on that particular day I was really worn out because of other things and other people, so I was even sadder because in times like these, having support will be greatly appreciated.

But it's okay. There're bad days, and then there are the good. Today is a good day. Just because of that one little incident. (:

SO HAPPY!!!!
