I've been missing for the past week, and here's my attempt at an explanation:
I had stepped into quicksand. Okay no I kid, I just needed to get away for a bit, I guess. The Internet was making me feel extremely sad and disappointed, so I delved into films instead, to regain my faith in humanity. To achieve that goal I actually watched both volumes of Kill Bill. Isn't that an irony? I don't know if it's me, but I'm kinda tired of the violence that appeared in both Kill Bill and Inglorious Basterds, which I just recently watched. I think it's because of this current state of mind I'm in - I just wish for violence anywhere, everywhere to
cease, so my starting point is the films. No, again, I kid. I actually really enjoyed Pulp Fiction when I watched it last year (Tarantino fans out there, calm your titties down). However, I feel like my current vulnerable self is most suited to watch films like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. IT IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL FILM (that I had to type that in caps). (': I bawled like mad, towards the end, and I just love how subtle every transition was; it gave me tender feelings. Please watch it if you haven't yet done so!
Wow my explanation digressed so much. If this is easier for you: I haven't been updating because I was preoccupied with watching films.
Now off to another subject! This happened about two months ago (I'm really sorry for the delay *sheepish*), when Divya very kindly invited LingSoc members over to her house for Diwali!
Here're Moritza, Joji, Junyong and Mr. Jayakumar a.k.a Joachim Lai a.k.a almost the lamest person I know on Earth
I really loved the butter cookies!! I think I was scaring Div a little when I told her excitedly that I was very eager to eat the snacks her mom was going to prepare. I probably shouldn't act like such a pig!
The three guys very coincidentally wore the - almost - same shade of
Phthalocyanine Green! LOL I got that name from Wikipedia whilst attempting to find the name of this exact shade they were wearing. Click
here if you're interested to see the different shades of green :D
Divya with her two JC friends, Sadikin and Pei Xian (:
A group shot Sadikin kindly took for us! I like how Junyong leaned forward for this photo, it creates depth in the photo hahahahaha. Note to self: BE MORE CREATIVE WHEN POSING
Us ladies with Div's mom! :D Divya looks SO MUCH like her! I told Aunty that she looked like Div's sister, heh.
After watching Shahrukh Khan shake his butt a little on the telly, we went downstairs to play with sparklers. YES, THOSE SPARKLERS WE PLAYED WITH AS LIL' KIDS!
Ehehehehehehehehe *rubs palms in eggcitement*
In my eagerness, I forgot that the flash would pick up on the smoke and hence this photo:
Mor shrouded in smoke, a la The Mist
Realised that my camera could be put on a slow shutter speed and so I asked Gang to randomly swirl something! This is what we got
Then the Js (Junyong, Joachim, Joji and Jian Gang) attempted a group sign but....... :p
Then it was my turn to fail!! My sparkler died the earliest because I was kind enough to light it up first for them to kop my spark. Anyway this photo is from Sadikin's camera, credits to him! (:
Somewhat decipherable......? :x
Favourite mister (:
Joachim took this for us and got scolded like mad by me hahhahaha
He redeemed himself though :D With my pretty ladies Joji and Mor!! (:
The kids were joking about getting a CAP 5.0:
Some of us would settle for a 4.5:
(credits to Sadikin!)
FAVOURITE PROF :DDDDDDDDD Heh I did well for Gender, whoop whoop
Div's sister decided to abandon her revision for A levels for a bit because she was too tempted by the fun we were having hehehe
Diwali, or Deepavali, is known as the Festival of Lights by the way! According to
Wikipedia, "the festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair." I knew Div and her family would be dressed in colourful sari so I attempted to dress in a more colourful outfit but aiya you all know me all black in my wardrobe. I tried my best!!
SO SWEET HOR
I took a shaky shot!! It's payback for scolding Joachim methinks. Sorry Mor and Joachim, I promise to take an awesome shot of you two the next outing we have!
Took an upclose shot of the sparks:
Isn't it pretty? (:
Love this bunch of silly kids so much. Sometimes I regret that we didn't form the society earlier, and have the opportunity to spend more time together with this great bunch of people, but hey, we take what we can get. At least we even have a society now, right? Unrecognised by the school for now, but we'll get there. Baby steps!
I had so much fun that night! We got approached by the police, which was hilarious to me, because we were SO. QUIET. We weren't yelling or laughing like maniacs, that is. For us to have been warned by the police then was funny to me because I was reminded of how when I was a little kid and playing with my siblings and cousins, we were yelling and running up and down floors AND corridors and just everywhere but we never got warned by the cops. Such difference. Or perhaps adults give more leeway to little kids while we, on that night, obviously didn't look like little kids LOLOLOLOL
After we left Div's house, Mor, Joachim, Junyong and I went to McDonald's to grab supper. I had a sundae! Joachim commented on my method of hastening the process of melting the ice cream before I consumed (drank) my ice cream. To each their own, okay!! We had a nice little gossip session, it was funny hehehehhe.
Shall end this entry with the best photo of the night (credits to Sadikin again!):
(: Hope y'all enjoyed your Christmas and had an awesome time, no matter where you are, and who you spent it with!
