Fika with Pika

Went out with Mrs Twit the other day!

I WAS EARLYYYYYYYYYYY  :D  Having made Huda wait for me for more than half of her lifetime, I decided much more effort was needed on my part to be early.  It's been hard but I'm really improving alright!  :D  I was also very sneaky and ambushed her with a slice of lingonberry cheesecake (whispered plans with the friendly and helpful staff of Fika):

'twas a belated celebration for her birthday  (:  Here's the happy girl with her cake!  At least, I think she was happy.  When the staff came to the table with the cake, she actually went "Really? Really?"  WHO DOES THAT RIGHT.  Haha then I sang her a really out of tune Happy Birthday song :x

 .jpg
I was really taken with the plate  ;_;  It's so pretty!  The cake was also very yummy (it cost $8.90).

Fika Swedish Cafe & Bistro is located near Haji Lane, at Beach Road.  There's another outlet at Millenia Walk but I've never been to that one.  The one at Beach Road is really pretty (the top floor is very exquisitely decorated), and I like that one gets to walk down Arab Street to get to Fika, because I love looking at the plentiful types of cloth that the store owners at Arab Street sell.  From organza to silk to batik!

 .jpg
I also got a present for Huda, and it was...... Wrapped in newspaper.  Hahahahahahahaha very badly, might I add.

Our food then arrived!

 .jpg
My plate was half filled with romaine lettuce.

 .jpg
We both ordered the grilled chicken thigh with black pepper sauce ($17.90).  I really liked the black pepper sauce because it was just at the right level of fiery-peppery-ness and creamy as well!  The skin on the chicken thigh was also crisp and tasty.

Got meself a lingonberry soda, and we both got lingonberry jams at an additional $0.80 each!

We really sat our butts down for hours, just talking and talking and talking.  She showed me photos of a golden-haired monkey, which was hilarious.  She also showed me her results, which were stunning (GOOD JOB BEEBS). At one point, our conversation turned to the topic of feminism, which depressed us slightly, but I yelled that we ought to pull ourselves out of that dreary slum and so we did.

When we finally left the cafe, she discovered that I had stained my pink jeans!!!  Imagine my utter horror.  No, thank goodness it was not my menstruation cycle - the stain was a tad too bright and pink for that.  We deduced, Elementary-style, that it must have been part of my MAC Cherry lip pencil that had broken off and fallen onto my jeans.  However, fearing that others would think that it was due to my menstrual cycle and negligence on my part, we started walking around Haji Lane to get myself a replacement bottom (snort), but we couldn't find any suitable one!

Finally we escaped to Bugis Street and bought a skater skirt for $10.  Lmao

Also: Huda got extremely fatigued after a mere 30 minutes of shopping around so we headed to Starbucks cafe to sit down again LOL.

She let me try her ever-confusing custom made concoction and it TASTED. SO. GOOD.  I stuck to my boring Toffeenut frap and licked the brown sugar off the whipped cream.

Her awkwardly pretending to use her phone so that I could snap a photo of the phone cover I'd bought for her, hehe.

 .jpg
LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUUUU

 .jpg
This was a photo meant to show both our phone cases but the smart one blocked hers LOL.  Mine's a cat shooting lasers out of its eyes.  My mom says that it looks evil but I quite like it.  Also: my outfit was meant to be some sort of modern vintage type of thing but it became a prints-overkill lololol

When I arrived home and informed my parents of my stain on the pink jeans, my dad went "Why now, did you kiss your ass?" which I found rather amusing.

'twas a fantastic day spent with Huda, rambling, discussing, everything and anything on this planet (and off of it), and though sometimes we talk about the serious and get rather down, sometimes we can be quite silly and happy - and that pretty much sums up our friendship: we get happy and sad together, we talk about everything to each other, and whilst we don't meet up as often, I know I'll love this woman forever, regardless of anything, and she to me, as well.  TO MANY YEARS TO COME!
