family

there was once i saw my elder brother stumble out of his room, just awakened, walk towards the master bedroom, and croak "mummy leh?"  my mom, walking upstairs, asks "shen me shi qing (what's going on)?"  but my brother cuts her off with a great hug, and he holds her tight, saying "gang zou er mong (just had a nightmare)"

he was hugging her really tightly.  and she hugged him back tightly.

there was once my mommy comes home and notices a faint smell of cigarettes in the house.  she yells at my brother, saying that if he wanted to continue smoking, he's not welcome in the house anymore.  he closes his room door, not saying a word.

i observe these things.  as a family member, when there's good in the house, you feel good; when it's absolutely shite, you feel like shit.

life is full of ups and downs.  family is made up of more than the good stuff.
