I spent Valentine's Day with these two dears at the Career Fair!  It was the second day of the event, and because Melcher and I had gone for the first one, we let Bert have her pick of which booths to go to.  I think the majority of companies at Career Fair only wants engineering and science students!  We arts students just go there for free cotton candy (well I do, anyway hahaha).



We very excitedly rushed over to Ikea's booth to ask them if they were hiring, and the lady said, "No, we're only here to create awareness that Ikea's more than a retailer - it's a business."  When we told her we were English majors graduating this year, and asked if she could tell us more, she... literally described what our advantages would be ("you know, some of your colleagues will have problems giving presentations, or writing reports, so you all will be of great help").  Umm sorry but English majors do not only edit stuff for grammar errors.....?  Sigh it's such a misconception that most people have.


Also bumped into Sonia!!!!!  Haven't seen her in awhile, and she's still the same - sunny and cute.  (:  She told me I should try being a copywriter because she reads my blog (if you're reading this, Hi Sonia! :D) and she likes my writing!  I always feel so glad whenever I hear that people like reading the entries I write.   :DDDDDDDDDDD  No emoticons are sufficient to adequately express my happiness.

Back in the honours room:

SAY YES TO CARRYING BACKPACKS WHILST WEARING HEELS+DRESS

My backpack is like my fifth limb to me nowadays..........  I carry my laptop and its charger to school daily, so I seldom use a tote bag nowadays; the weight would cause my right shoulder tremendous pain.  Before I left the house, my mom was like "Going to career fair again?  Can you bring another bag?"  And my reply to her was "MOMMY.  Which is more important - carrying the appropriate bag, or getting a job?"  Of course it was coupled with a cheeky grin.

Went back to hall with Bryan, and he surprised me with these!

Plain Vanilla cupcakes!  (: (: (: He'd bought salted caramel and red velvet, which are both my favourites, and an earl grey one for me to try.

A needed interjection:  I don't care much for Valentine's Day.  I think it's a day just like any other.  Some other people who don't like Valentine's cite reasons such as over-commercialisation, something private needn't be celebrated with the public, and whatever, but it's not really that for me - it's just that this day doesn't hold additional significant meaning for me.  Such practices only gain value from the meanings that we attribute to them, so to each their own, alright? (:

Still, IT WAS A GOOD SURPRISE, YUM YUM.  :D


He only bought macarons from his friend!  Matcha chocolate ones.  I think I like the shells more so than the chocolate filling within them!

I posted this photo on FB with the following words:


I spent my day with two of my favourite persons who made job-hunting and making small talk with strangers fun ( Melcher Tan & Alberta Low thank you!), bumped into another favourite person on the bus ( Jody Wanchun just five minutes with you made my day brighter! ^^ ) and then spent just a bit of time having lunch with another of my favourite persons and being surprised with my favourite Plain Vanilla cupcakes and macarons (Thank you Bryan Tong !) (: I know it's Valentine's Day but I never really cared much for it (I'm not one to prioritise romantic love over other forms of love). However, it's really nice to have people keep you in your thoughts and tell you how they feel about you on this day; after all, sometimes, we forgetful humans just need that little reminder to let us know we're loved. I haven't been having the best of times, so to all my family and friends (especially Noorhuda Amalina & Ng Yoke Cheng) for this day (and the many other countless days) that you all have been with me, supporting me, handing me tissues when I cry and telling me I look okay when all my makeup's run down my face, and just being around in general, THANK YOU so much and I LOVE YOU. I hope my love's enough to make you feel appreciated for just this one day! (:


I received a rare compliment from Mrs Twit (me: like Mewtwo rare? her: Articuno, please), so thank you very much!  :p  Also, I received a card from Bert, which was really sweet and encouraging --- while reading it I was filled with overwhelming emotions and I kept tearing hahahaahha.  Thank you dear (':


A good day, all in all, this 14 February business!  Hope you had a nice one as well.  (:
