It's
14 August 2013!
A year ago, I took a plane ride all by myself, for the first time, to a place called Copenhagen, where I spent 4 hours waiting for a domestic flight to bring me to another place called Aarhus!
I remember speaking to a teen next to me on the 11 hour flight. He was from Iceland, I think.
There, in Aarhus, I met the mentor that Aarhus Universitet had assigned to me, Mette, who kindly let me stay at her place because my own place would only be available the next day. I remember seeing the greens and browns of the buildings of the little city, and struggling with my huge luggage case.
I remember feeling very nervous, but even more excited for things that were to come. It was as if my senses kept tingling and I was a little child, eager to see everything.
(:
I then spent a good 5 months meeting awesome people, experiencing different study styles, going to awesome parties, trying out living away from family and with a stranger who turned out to be the sweetest-yet-biggest-bully-ever (I kid. Kirstin is the best), and just...
living life, I suppose I should call it that.
Well, it doesn't mean that one should only be motivated to try new things and be a new person when they're plopped into a new situation and environment. I must constantly remind myself that with every new day I must cherish what I have been given, and yearn to learn more, and grow to be a better person. (:
I've classes tomorrow! Off to bed.
PS I think I'd blogged somewhere before that I'd finish blogging about all my European trips before August '13 but.... OMG I STILL HAVE SO MANY PHOTOS. Should I just abandon them??
